The 7th International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology and Transportation (Vietship 2014) opened in Hanoi

The 7th International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology and Transportation (Vietship 2014) was held in Hanoi from 26th to 28th February 2014. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang.

VietshipExhibition is the biggest specialized event on Shipbuilding, Marine and Transportation in Vietnam. It is the gathering place for manufacturers and trading enterprises of many leading brands  from countries all over the world and almost all Vietnamese ship owners and shipyards. After 12 years of six consecutive successful exhibitions, Vietship has affirmed itself as an important role in enhancing cooperation and development, attracting investments, exchanging technology and creating ideal opportunities for trade promotion in the industry and become the must-have event of the shipbuilding and marine industry, domestically, regionally and internationally.

Vietship 2014, hosted by the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC), is showcasing the latest products and technology in the shipbuilding industry across more than 200 stands by 115 leading global shipbuilders and maritime groups from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, the US, Russia and the Netherlands.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang said that Vietship 2014, which takes place during a period of economic difficulty for Vietnam and the world, is expected to foster investment and trade exchanges between the country and foreign businesses. He also hopes that through the fair, the SBIC will grow strongly and can sign many commercial contracts.

Member's Council Chairman of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Nguyen Ngoc Su said Vietship 2014 was organized in a scenario of strong influence from the global economic downturn on the international and domestic shipbuilding and marine industries. However, Vietship, the largest meeting on shipbuilding, marine technology and transportation in Viet Nam, continued to attract a large number of domestic and international businesses operating in these industries.

Vietship 2014 will provide an opportunity to businesses seeking partners, especially in Viet Nam's markets. It also is a useful forum for managers and policy makers, experts, national and oversea enterprises to discuss about science, technology, policy and strategy for development of the maritime and shipbuilding industries.
